MAY COLOUR RAFFLE – ‘GREEN’
SPAIN

This will be followed on Sunday 11th
with a Full Day Workshop by Maggie – entitled ‘Get Stuffed’

Stuffing will be used in its widest sense, and you will be encouraged to mix the traditional techniques of English, Italian, and Trapunto quilting, with unconventional stuffing material, like washers, and cotton balls.
From textured, raised pattern, dimpled with exquisite stitches, to painted  surfaces using mixed media.

Sounds like a fascinating weekend – hope to see you there.

Tarleton Library Sit & Stitch–Saturday 29th March 2014

After having a display of members work on show from Monday 24th there had been a lot of interest shown by library members and several turned up for the Sit and Stitch session on Saturday morning.
My thanks go to Angela, Deborah, Marguerita, Kathleen and Kay for their help and support on the day, and for their supply of very exciting work which was appreciated by all those who stopped by – some just to have a look and a chat and especially to the 5 or 6 ladies who sat with us to do some stitching – a very successful and worthwhile event.

Many of the ladies showed an interest in coming to the branch to see what we do and details of our programme were handed out.
We now look forward to them coming to join in with branch activities.

The photographs were taken by Deborah and show some of them at work trying out a variety of stitching techniques.
If you look closely you may see some cake on the table – provided as usual by ‘you know who’!!  Thanks Kay.

My thanks too go to my local Library at Tarleton – run by a very go-ahead and enthusiastic group of ladies who bring a lot of different things to the local community – not just the books!  There is always something going on – a real feeling of community spirit.  Much appreciated.

Saturday 12th April Hands-On Stitch workshop–Take 3 Stitches.

This Hands-on session will be the first of two, when 3 hand stitches will be introduced to members.
You may or may not know them, as the idea is to try something new which can be taken further in the second session in July.

Please bring your needles, threads, scissors and some plain fabric and of course, as most of you know, I like to use a ring frame so if you have one bring it with you.
We will have a small selection of plain fabrics and threads if you forget anything.
