NEW FOR THE PARBOLD BRANCH

Hello and Welcome to the new BLOG pages of the Parbold Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild.

The branch was formed in 1996 and we have retained a membership of around 45 very active members who would like to share with you some of the activities that we do.

Our Branch was very pleased to be asked to launch the 'Rainbow Squares' project for the North West Region of the Guild and members, along with some of the regional committee completed 116 squares.

The Branch designs were based on 'Wild Flowers' and the regional committee members concentrated on stitch techniques, all of which were displayed at the Regional AGM in October 2008. Some of the squares are shown below.

We were told that this had encouraged more branches to add their names to those who had already agreed to take part, and we are now working on green squares for the 2009 displays, the first of which will be at Manchester Central (the old G-Mex) at the beginning of September. Our theme for this year is the 'Rain Forest'
